Thanks to my fine friends <a href=\"http:\/\/jennicatron.tv\" target=\"_blank\">Jenni Catron<\/a>, <a href=\"www.MatthewPaulTurner.com\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew Paul Turner<\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.holycowcreative.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Buckingham<\/a>, the workshop UnChurched was both intellectual fun and tremendous motivation.\u00a0 And my fabulously talented and beautiful wife <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cornerstone.edu\/academics\/faculty\/view?id=67\" target=\"_blank\">Kat<\/a> shared the teaching and motivation responsibilities with me for our Digital Storytelling workshop. Thanks everyone!<\/p>\n<p>Getting tons of new ideas from workshops (like mine) is one of the great benefits of really good conventions. There&#8217;s a real downside, however&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I looked back in my Moleskine and scanned the notes from the last NRB, and there it was&#8230; a whole page of an idea that I got during a session moderated by good friend and staging guru <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamencore.com \" target=\"_blank\">Dan Castor<\/a>\u00a0of Encore Productions.\u00a0 And what\u00a0have I done with that\u00a0idea (and let me add,\u00a0this idea could make many thousands of dollars for me)?\u00a0 Nothing.<\/p>\n<p>I am working on it now&#8230; plus working on another great idea I got this year at NRB.\u00a0 \u00a0So the upside is that you can meet great people and create new ideas. The downside is that those great ideas will die shortly after conception unless you motivate yourself to action.\u00a0 Yeah we&#8217;re all busy (I&#8217;m incredibly busy) but the ideas are useless &#8212; unless we act on them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was honored to lead two workshops at the recent National Religious Broadcasters convention.
